So this is the new year?
I'm sitting here watching the Chiefs and Bengals and it just feels weird that it's not the Seminoles and Nittany Lions. This doesn't seem like New Year's Day - it 's like another Sunday. And why is that? It's because there are no meaningless bowl games going on. I like the NFL and I know why they demand to play on Sunday, but it just takes all of the special qualities out of one of the best holidays we have to pre-empt all of the college football that should be taking place today.

Not only do I agree, Benny, but I also hate the fact that tomorrow, when the games are played, half the traditional January 1st bowls are no longer on the same day! I *hate* that they're now spread out over a couple of days. The Big 4 New Years Bowls should all be on the same day. Period.
